Terms of Use
The rules for using Dosho: who can join, how coins and gifts work, how hosts get paid, and what happens if the rules are broken.
01 Accepting these terms
These Terms of Use are the agreement between you and Dosho ("Dosho", "we", "us"). By creating an account, signing in, or using the Dosho app or website, you confirm that you have read and accepted them, together with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use Dosho.
When you sign in or register you tick a box to confirm this. You can read these terms again at any time in the app under Settings, then Terms of Use.
02 Who can use Dosho
- Dosho is for adults. You must be 18 or older, and old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live.
- You must give accurate sign-up details, including your date of birth, and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- One person, one account. Do not sell, share or transfer an account.
- If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it.
03 What Dosho is
Dosho is a live video, short-video (reels), chat and gifting app. Chatting, calling, watching lives and posting reels are free. Members can send virtual gifts to hosts. Features can differ by platform and by country. For example, some features available on Android or the web may not be available on iPhone. We may add, change or remove features at any time.
04 Coins and gifts
- Coins are virtual items used inside Dosho, mainly to send gifts and unlock in-app features. They are not money, are not a bank balance, and cannot be exchanged for cash except through the host earnings rules below.
- You buy coins through the payment method offered on your platform: Apple In-App Purchase on iPhone, Google Play on Android, and the secure checkout on the web. Prices are shown in US dollars, with an approximate local amount where we show one.
- Gifts you send are final. A gift cannot be taken back after it is sent.
- Purchases are non-refundable except where the law, or Apple or Google's own rules, require a refund. To ask for an App Store or Google Play refund, use their refund process. For web purchases, contact us.
- Coins have no value outside Dosho and have no expiry date unless we tell you in advance. If your account is closed for breaking these terms, any unused coins are lost.
05 Host earnings and withdrawals
- Hosts earn from gifts they receive during their lives. Earnings can only come from gifts. They cannot be created by buying coins and withdrawing them.
- Withdrawals are paid from earnings only, by M-Pesa or PayPal, after we verify the account, and are subject to the minimums, daily limits and processing times shown in the app. Payouts on iPhone can be delayed by Apple's settlement period.
- Hosts receive a share of each gift's value, as shown in the app, and Dosho keeps the rest. Payment providers may charge fees.
- You are responsible for any tax on your earnings.
- We may hold or cancel a payout if we suspect fraud, abuse, chargebacks or a breach of these terms.
06 Your content and conduct
- You keep ownership of what you post. You give Dosho a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, display, play, share and promote it inside and for the service, for as long as it is on Dosho.
- You promise you have the right to post it and that it follows the Community Guidelines. No sexual content involving minors, no sexual content in public lives, reels or chats, no harassment, threats, hate, scams, impersonation, illegal activity, or spam.
- Do not record or share other people's private calls or lives without permission, copy the app, interfere with it, or try to get coins or earnings by cheating.
- Do not ask users to pay or contact you outside Dosho to avoid the app's payment systems.
07 Moderation and reports
We use automated checks and human review to keep Dosho safe, and you can report or block any user or content in the app. We may remove content, limit features such as messaging, suspend or close accounts, and report serious cases to the authorities. See the Community Guidelines for how this works.
08 Ending your account
You can stop using Dosho and ask us to delete your account at any time (in the app, or by emailing us). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as ownership, limits of liability and disputes, continue after an account ends.
09 Disclaimers and limits
- Dosho is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise it will always be available or error free.
- Users are responsible for what they say and do. We are not responsible for what other users post or do, or for any meeting or dealing that happens outside the app.
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid to Dosho in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited.
10 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Courts in Kenya can hear disputes, except where the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim in your home courts.
11 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Using Dosho after the change means you accept it.
